ESTABLISHED 2013

Make more of your hour.

Useful skills. Everyday help. A place for paid work, direct time exchange and volunteering.

Help comes in many forms.

HourHelpers was established in 2013 with a simple idea: people have useful skills, and other people need a hand. A website project, a garden that needs attention, a lesson or a dog walk can all start with the same clear conversation.

The marketplace brings online services and everyday local tasks together. You can describe a job, explore a category, compare profiles or choose a service with a defined scope. The people doing the work are independent members, each responsible for the services they offer.

Your time has something to offer.

Money is one way to agree work. Time is another. If both people agree, one person can give an hour of their skills in return for an hour of the other person’s skills.

Each direct exchange records two tasks and the same amount of time for both people. Each person reviews the work they receive. Hours are exchanged with that person; they do not become credits to spend with somebody else.

You can hire and help.

One account lets you post work and offer your own skills. Add a helper profile whenever you want to respond to jobs or list services. You do not need to choose one role permanently.

Membership is for adults aged 18 and over. Email activation, clear briefs and shared workrooms help keep the practical details together. They do not replace checking someone’s experience, identity or suitability for the work.
