CLEAR CHOICES

Your privacy.

This notice describes the information used by this HourHelpers marketplace and the choices available to you.

Your account and work

When you register, we store your name, email address and a one-way password hash. We use this information to sign you in and associate your projects, proposals, services and messages with your account.

Your helper profile, listed services and public job briefs can be seen by other visitors. Drafts and private briefs are visible to their owner. Proposals are shared with the project owner and the helper who submitted them. Workroom messages are restricted to that workroom’s participants.

Company accounts

For a company account we also store the company name, an optional website and registration number, and the representative’s confirmation that they are authorised to act. The full company name and any supplied website are public alongside the company profile, services and project activity. An uploaded logo uses the profile-photo facility. The named representative’s personal account name and email, and the optional registration number, are not displayed on the public company profile.

Essential storage

A session cookie keeps you signed in and protects form submissions against cross-site request forgery. A privacy-choice cookie remembers whether you allow optional preferences. These functions are necessary for the service and do not depend on optional consent.

Optional preferences

If you allow preferences, your browser can remember the light or dark theme you choose. No advertising trackers or analytics scripts are included in this version. Rejecting preferences does not stop you signing in, posting a job or using your workrooms.

Your current choice: optional preferences not allowed. You can change it here at any time.

Security and abuse prevention

We keep limited security records to detect repeated failed sign-in attempts and record important account and project actions. Passwords are not stored in plain text. Avoid placing payment information, credentials or sensitive personal details in public listings or messages.

Check-review records

If you request a childcare-check review, we record limited details of the scheme, jurisdiction, scope and review dates, your permission to show a badge, and the administrator who reviewed it. An active public badge links to what was reviewed. We do not ask you to upload criminal-record certificates or store conviction details in this feature. Ask hello@hourhelpers.com to correct a record or withdraw public display. Administrators retain an action log for review and revocation.

Time exchanges

We store the two agreed tasks, equal time commitments, consent and delivery decisions in the participants’ shared workroom. These hours are not a transferable wallet balance.

Volunteering and feedback

We record the voluntary agreement, each participant’s consent, project messages, delivery and completion decisions. If either participant ends an arrangement, the reason is shared with the other participant and the history remains recorded. Volunteering does not create a payment or time-credit balance. A review of completed work displays its author’s public account name, rating and comment on the reviewed profile.

Completed-project CV downloads

Signed-in members can select their completed projects and download a private PDF, Word document or Excel workbook. This includes the recorded agreement, pricing, completion dates, their role and the other participant’s public name and current profile image or company logo. Individual members’ own CVs use their full account name; company CVs use the company name. Private messages, email addresses and company registration numbers are excluded.

Exports are generated on request in private temporary storage and removed after the download is served. They are not published as public CV links. Members choose whether to share their downloaded files and should review the details before sharing.

Contact and account requests

Contact the site operator to request access, correction or deletion of your account information. Some project or security records may need to be retained to resolve an issue or meet a legal requirement.
